Security and privacy

Devices and membership

The Base owns membership and authoritative file changes. Pair only devices you trust and protect invite material and device keys. Peer connections and privileged local administration use separate boundaries.

Local files and availability

Your devices store Hive data. Ordinary Hive files, on-demand content and protected folders have different replication rules. Removing access cannot erase copies a device already received.

Encryption scope

Encrypted peer connections do not by themselves guarantee encrypted storage on disk. Password unlock, encrypted storage, backup and private-mesh improvements are planned work and should not be treated as available until they are documented in a public release.

Verify your download

The download page validates release metadata and displays each package’s SHA-256 and signing status. Compare the downloaded file with its published checksum before installing.

Development status

HiveDrive is currently privately developed. Internal architecture, engineering roadmaps and source code are not public while the product is still being prepared for wider release.

Report a concern

A public security-reporting channel will be published before broader release. Do not send credentials, private files or invite secrets through public channels.
